Caffè Cannaregio

The wood and exposed brick counter at Caffè Cannaregio with a menu board, espresso machine, and grinders under a canal side window

This canal side room on Fondamenta dei Ormesini has served coffee since 1930, rebranding from Torrefazione Cannaregio to Caffè Cannaregio in 2026 as a project curated by Mazzer, the Venetian espresso equipment maker. Managers Matteo and Benedetta choose every green coffee themselves, a curated selection picked with an eye on origin and story rather than roasted in house; the actual roasting is handled by another local company.

Espresso covers the traditional Venetian repertoire alongside single origin options like an Ethiopian pour over, while filter drinkers can order from a menu that runs from cortado and flat white through to matcha and hot chocolate. Breakfast pastries include a well known pistachio croissant, and bagged coffee lines the counter for anyone taking a bag home.
