Gast

A sunlit communal table at Gast in Stockholm, with potted plants lining a shelf above pink wainscoting

Gast opened on Radmansgatan just north of Hotorget as the brunch focused sibling of Stora Bageriet, sharing the same kitchen group rather than running as a standalone concept. Hanging bulb lights and a plant filled room wrap around an open espresso counter, with specialty coffee sourced from a rotating set of Swedish roasteries rather than an in house roast.

The kitchen runs a full a la carte brunch through the week, Eggs Benedict and American pancakes among the regulars, alongside the fika standards of buns and cakes at the counter. Weekday mornings start early for the coffee crowd, while weekend brunch stretches later into the afternoon and drop ins queue for a table.
