Kuro

Shelves behind Kuro's counter stacked with tea tins, glassware, and pour-over gear, handwritten seasonal menu boards below

Kuro shares its space with the F5 clothing store in Sofienberg, which sounds like a gimmick until you are standing in it: one minimal room, rails on one side, a coffee bar on the other, ceramics and brewing kit on the shelves, and no sense that either half is an afterthought. It is family run, and the coffee comes from Kokko Coffee Roasters down in Stavanger, roasted light in the Norwegian manner.

The result is one of the few places in Grünerløkka where you can drink a properly made filter, buy a jumper and pick up a hand thrown cup without moving more than ten metres. Matcha is on the menu too, and the room stays open later than most coffee bars in the city.
