Eris

Eris occupies a 35 square meter corner on Via Eustachi in Porta Venezia, opened by Alessandro Miocchi and Giuseppe Lo Iodice, the founding partners behind Rome's Retrobottega restaurant. The original architecture, built by studio Velia around what its owners call a changing frame, pairs a permanent central bar with reconfigurable walls and mobile steel furnishings that let the room flip between cafe and full gallery in a single day. Naessi Studio now leads the space's artistic direction, reworking it into a new form every April, an annual transformation that has become core to how Eris operates rather than a one time renovation.

The counter pours specialty coffee through the daytime hours, while the same reconfigurable room clears out for a rotating calendar of pop up retail and exhibitions whenever a brand needs a stage. The cafe side keeps shorter, quieter hours than the exhibition calendar might suggest, open Wednesday through Friday mornings and again on weekends, closed Monday and Tuesday.
