Cult Coffee Roasters

Father and son team Kevin and Gary opened a small cafe in Newington in November 2014, a short walk from the University of Edinburgh and The Meadows, after Gary had previously run a coffee kiosk at Dalmeny station. Cult was the first to bring Bath's Roundhill Roastery to Edinburgh on a permanent basis before eventually building a roasting operation of its own, now supplying cafes across the UK under the same name.
Roasting happens midweek, with Jason and Kevin running that side of the business alongside a single origin heavy menu that still rotates in guest roasters. The room has grown into a proper hangout for the university crowd, with wheelchair access, dog friendly floors, vegan options, and enough outlets and space that it's become a go to for people working on laptops.
