Carter Coffee

Carter Coffee's bright interior with wood tables, a dark counter holding a batch brewer, a potted plant, and tall windows looking out onto Bonnington's brick tenements

Sorley Richardson and Danny Allan spent five years working together at Obadiah Coffee before striking out on their own, and Craig Paul joined the pair about a year before they opened this roastery and shop on Fyfe Lane in Bonnington. The trio soft launched in spring 2026 with a run of one pound coffees, then kept the counter takeaway only for six weeks while they finished fitting out the room with tables and chairs.

Blending drives the coffee program here more than strict single origin purism, Sorley's rule being that if a combination tastes good, it goes on the menu regardless of convention. One blend paired Colombian co fermented pineapple coffee with Brazilian beans chasing the flavor of Pineapple Lumps, a New Zealand sweet, a nod to Danny's background. The shop currently pours Wednesday to Friday mornings only, with a small kitchen planned for when the buildout finishes.
