Wild Horses

Wild Horses runs its house coffee from the Berlin roaster Sincerely, then fills out the rest of the menu with a rotating cast of small independent roasters from further afield, so the filter list rarely looks the same two visits in a row. It shares its building in old Sydhavn with an exhibition gallery upstairs and a studio community of working creatives below, and the cafe itself doubles as informal exhibition space, art from local and international names rotating on the walls behind the espresso bar. Breakfast plates and seasonal lunch dishes come from the same kitchen, alongside pastries from the bakery Benji.
The room reads more like a shared creative space that happens to serve excellent coffee than a cafe that added some art to the walls, with mismatched furniture, big windows onto the street, and a soundtrack that leans toward whatever the staff are into that week. It sits on a quiet stretch of Sydhavnen still more industrial than postcard, a short walk from the harbour front and worth the detour for anyone tracking down Copenhagen's smaller roasters rather than just the famous names.
