H A N S Coffee

H A N S occupies a basement a few steps below Boldhusgade, just off Christiansborg, where the pastry case runs through cardamom buns and tebirkes and the bar runs pour over on Hario V60s alongside the espresso menu. The beans come from Copenhagen Coffee Lab, a Danish roastery, and the shop describes itself simply as specialty coffee, pastry and breakfast, without much else competing for attention in a room built around a single wooden counter and a handful of tables. Boldhusgade was the first of what is now three H A N S locations in the city, alongside newer shops in Christianshavn and on Grønnegade.
The basement setting keeps the room calm and a little removed from the street noise above, a quiet stop for anyone crossing between Christiansborg and the harbour rather than a destination cafe people plan a whole visit around. Locals treat it as a fast, reliable coffee stop on the way to work as much as a place to sit and linger, and the small footprint means seats fill up quickly once the morning rush starts.
