Rubiaceae (Dom's Coffee)

Rubiaceae is the official name on the paperwork, but everyone on Mill Road just calls it Dom's, after the one person who runs the whole tiny room alone. Dom learned coffee in Japan and brings that same quiet, exacting attention to every cup, rotating single origin beans through both filter and espresso rather than settling on one house blend.

There is no sign outside, no laptops at the six seats, and no cards at the till, just a narrow room with a window full of plants and a regular crowd who know exactly what they are walking into. It closes early most days and stays shut on Sunday and Monday, so a visit takes a bit of planning around the hours.
