Boiler Coffee Shop

Boiler opened at Piata Muncii in 2015, built on founder Paul Ungureanu's background running Bucharest's first coffee school roughly a decade earlier, plus a string of barista competition results before the shop ever poured a cup. That pedigree still shows in how the place operates, a Summer Coffee School series on the shop's own Instagram walks customers through grind size and extraction the same way a training session would, and Boiler now runs its own Latte Art Festival each October, drawing a World Latte Art Champion onto the judging panel in 2026. A collaboration line with Guido, one of the city's established specialty roasters, runs alongside Boiler's own house blend.

What started as a single small shop tucked into a residential street away from the tourist center has grown into a small local network of nine locations across the city, from Victoriei to Cotroceni, while the original Piata Muncii address stays true to its neighborhood roots. Regulars describe it as a genuine local hangout, families, athletes after a run, and small groups treat it as a default meeting spot rather than a destination cafe.
